I'm not sure what the Aristotlian or Confuician methods are, actually. I must have missed that class, so I'm not familiar with either. I don't know if Kingston is following any kind of structure besides her own in this book. I know that I didn't sense any kind of patterns or repetition, even, in the way the book structures anecdotes, cultural information, "talk-stories" and personal information. Then again, like I said, maybe that's part of the Confucian structure and I just don't know about it.
But thanks for the tip about the Confucius Institute. I think they do have something near us, I'll be looking into that. It doesn't look like they offer anything free here for adult learners, but the classes seems reasonable (in the 300 dollar range). Though I missed their deadline for their summer course, it started on June 22. Maybe after this whole wedding thing is done with :)
