I'm feeling exactly the same about my current project. Is all I'm doing showcasing how exotic another group of people is? Does my plot make sense at all? I really need to ask for a second opinion, maybe soon.
I almost always feel differently after I've finished a novel and given it some breathing room. Whatever does suck about it, I can always edit out later.
In my experience, the longer the period between the finishing and the editing, the better the story usually would look, although time is not a luxury I can always afford.
