I'll speculate that any language at all for this kind of thing will end up problematic. We're a problematic species. :) And there are cases for which "self-censorship" probably is a good and relevant description, and implicitly pointing toward good answers. And and I'm not altogether sure how I do want to talk about some of the rest.
