Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest 2006 Results.

This never ceases to make me feel better about writing, life, and the universe in general. Because no matter how stuck I am, no matter how hopeless it feels, I can always look to these, my fellow writers and say that phrase which has comforted, depressed, and worried people from time immemoriam: "cheer up, it could be worse".

Also?

I think that anyone wishing to write SF/F needs to take a close, close look at the Science Fiction and Fantasy winners. Yes, I know that the winners are an exaggerated example, but trust me. A lot of SF/F that didn't win (and even got published) suffers from the same disease in a lesser degree.

We can learn from this.

We can also laugh our asses off.

And at the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about?
