This is a fantastic post. I just had to have this same discussion with my Secondary One students (12-13yo), because they were throwing around "gay" as an insult, and didn't see anything wrong with it. Part of this is perpetuated by Singapore's conservative value system, and part of it is just being an insensitive kid who doesn't know any better. Still, I hope they got the point.
