There's a rape in the third book that... well, it seems a bit squickily handled in how the survivor gets over it (it seems to happen a bit fast--although I know not every survivor reacts the same way, etc.--especially, iirc, w/the help of the romantic interest). I remember seeing quite a lot of blog posts that took issue w/that.

I wouldn't recommend them overall--I mean, I enjoy them to a degree (I caved & read the fourth book b/c I got a galley), but... there's a lot of the usual annoying stuff: sexy dominating male shapeshifters (at one point Mercy is told she has to choose between two b/c OTHERWISE IT WILL TEAR THE PACK APART), blah blah. Mercy is mixed-race but I felt like that got exoticized a fair amount.
