Finally had the spoons to read through most of it. Wow, that a writer doesn't understand how words are used, misused, reclaimed, etc. Language isn't arbitrary, and even more so, it adds to the vicious cycle of negative perceptions about marginalised groups, especially when it is used colloquially. She used the word a lot on her twitter, cursory glance seems to show that she's deleted those tweets (or twits? what are they called?).

And: "the sands of time wore them clean(er)"?! Well, that puts her from the What The Hell, Author, straight to the Shit List. I'll be actively discouraging friends from reading her.
