megwritesI just read one of the best short stories I've laid eyes on THIS ENTIRE YEAR
Flower, Mercy, Needle, Chain by Yoon Ha Lee at Lightspeed Magazine. There's even a podcasted version of it!
It's gorgeous and a bit heartbreaking and mindbending and elegant and beautiful and sharply edged. It singing in your ears like metal ringing. It is, simply, a damn near perfect piece of science-fictional prose. I don't want to give anything about it away, or else I'd quote an excerpt but wow it's incredible.
I definitely recommend checking it out ASAP!
