I'm so freaking stuck on my novel it's not funny right now.

I'm stuck because I know what I want to have happen, but some parts of it are so boring to write. But I have to write them, because otherwise the reader will be going "uhh, yeah, how did we get from point A to point WHERE FRELL AM I?!?!?!"

Also, other more exciting ideas for short stories and such are cropping up in my head, trying to seduce me away from my novel. Trying to tempt me to be unfaithful. With their shinyness and their promises of "write me, write me, I won't be boring!"

Somebody kick me in the pants, inspire me, something. Gah!

Random questions:

1. How many people on the f-list outline what they're writing and how many don't like doing that?

2. How many people know the end of the story before they write it and how many are surprised by it?

3. When an idea first pops up in your head, what form does it usually take? Meaning, do you start with a conversation, a map, an event, a character, an idea (what if vampires were on spaceships!).

Hahaha - I finished chapter 10.

Thus, I get a cookie. Literally.

I have a sleeve of Thin Mint girl scout cookies and half a novel to go. Nothing better than cookies to convince yourself that finishing a chapter is worth your while.
