Eldyn is gay :) It's subtle, but there, in the first book, and becomes his entire plot arc in book two, The House on Durrow Street. His love interest is in the first book, also, and his interest in Eldyn is, once again, present but subtle.
If you think it's better to add just the sequel, though, do it!
