Gaiman also wrote a short story called "Changes", collected in his anthology Smoke and Mirrors, that deals with an alternate future in which gender-switching is possible. That collection also includes "Murder Mysteries", in which murder is invented as a crime of passion in a relationship between two (genderless, but male-seeming) angels. Murder, not good, but the more-or-less-same-gender relationship is presented positively rather than as the cause of the crime.
