While I'm glad you want to contribute, I don't think that adding feminist literature would be appropriate for this particular list, so I'm going to add only the ones that are suitable for the list.
I agree totally with you. OSC's fictional women characters leave tons to be desired. However, this list was designed specifically to be a pushback, to be a way to gather a list of the books that the tell the truth about GLBT+ people when books like his tell hateful lies that we're sick or perverted or cursed or criminal just for being who we are, loving who we love, and existing out in the open.
What sparked this was OSC's hatred of GLBT+ people to the point where he believes they ought to be denied basic civil liberties and human rights. While I have no doubt that he probably has issues with women as well, he has never called for women to be jailed for being out as women (well at least not cis women).
I think adding in feminist literature would be a bit of a derail, as feminist literature would include women who are straight and cis
Nor am I looking for subtext for this list, because it's frankly not appropriate. This is about literature that is proudly and positively for us, by us, and about us GLBT+ folks, not about literature that may hint or suggest that we exist, that throws shadows and veils over us because there are authors who can't or won't write GLBT+ characters out in the open.
We do exist. We are people. We have stories. This list is for those stories.
If you're looking for books that portray awesome women, I assure this list has plenty. There are lots of strong queer/GLBT+ women here on this list for you to find. And while I don't know all these books personally, I can name a few off the top of my head: The Salt Roads by Nalo Hopkinson, Ash and Huntress by Malinda Lo, Slow River by Nicola Griffith. There's more but my brain is a bit fuzzy this morning.
