I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when reading about the dude who insisted you buy the books on your ereader with his 3 dollars...
People everywhere are talking about self-publishing and how easy it is to be published (epublished) and how much money some folks are making...
I wish I could get my head around that, but I can't. And all I can think about is the quality of a story and the craft of a novel and how damn hard it is to write a good book.
I wish I had the the balls or the lack of sense or the ridiculousness to focus on the end result only...that of being purchased. Instead I obsess about story and the prose and thrilling/touching/surprising/entertaining my readers.
Sorry you had to meet him. But thanks for a interesting, and and horribly disturbing but somehow hilarious blog. The world is far weirder than I thought.
