Into every author's life, a little reviewing must fall. Would it help if I promised only to say really good things and give you a lollipop after it's done? It works for getting vaccines and dental exams. :)
Though I do love the Book Barn. It's one of my favorite places in all of New England. I could do without the outhouse, however.
There's a place in Jacksonville that's similar (I forget the name of it, though I used to frequent it), but the Book Barn is superior. Mostly for atmosphere, cats, and free donuts and coffee.
I have to say that I'm with you. In all the places I've been in New England since I moved to NYC, this is probably up there in the top three spots. It's a contest between this place, between Mt. Holyoke, and Northampton, Massachusetts.
Also, by outhouse do you mean the port-a-potty or something else?
