As far as characters go, sometimes men are center stage and sometimes women are center stage. Sometimes the man serve the woman's character and sometimes the woman serves the man's character, depending on the story.
If the story even calls for something like that--I like your formula very much, as it sounds like none of that sort of thing would be going on, no matter what sub-genre you were using.
