As far as being booted is concerned, I seem to have read somewhere that the guy OWNS "helix" and is thus unlikely to boot himself
Oh well, then that's a whole other situation. I have to say, so long as Sanders is associated with Helix, I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole. Even though I have friends who have gotten stories published with Helix, I still refuse to buy it.
As for the original letter, the depth of savagery and ignorance are astounding.
I know. I still boggle at how someone can honestly believe something like this, how someone can be this racist and this *hateful*. I just don't understand how the brain malfunctions like that. I'm still trying to figure out, and I'm getting nowhere.
I gather "Helix" is more or less an invitation-only market. I'm... kind of glad I've never been invited.
Heh, me too. Although I don't really write a lot of short fiction, so it's not like I was ever gonna get invited.
I do feel sorry for the authors who are now inadvertently caught in the middle, because Helix published their stories and now they have to decide if they want to ever put Helix on their resume again or not. Not to mention that they're getting bunched in with all the bad press going around.
I hope people are smart enough to realize that just because one jackass aired his bigotry in public doesn't mean that anyone who was ever involved with Helix agrees with them.
