I think it comes out of being close to your characters. Nothing wrong with that at all! It's an interesting place to be in and use it to your advantage. Lately, I find that I have to warm up for about a page before I can get back into my character's head space. It would be nice if I could be in someone else's place for a while so I wouldn't have to live in my boring life. Then again, I may not be the best person to ask since mental illness runs in my family. :-\
