Someone told me on my journal the other day that they 'pitied' me because I was 'missing out on some good books' and I JUST ABOUT LOST MY SHIT.

Oh, please tell me you gave them what and what for. That kind of thing really is inexcusable. I mean, seriously? They said they "pitied" you.

Well, I pity the fool who made that remark and doesn't know what they're missing out on.

I don't know why it is that some idiots feel like romance is a lesser genre. I mean, come on. There are books about IMPROBABLE DETECTIVES AND THEIR CRIME SOLVING PETS out there, but some how a book that is about two people and the relationship between them is some how laughable? I don't get it.

And no, I'm not knocking the crime solving critter books, either, because I'm sure they're quite wonderful reads. I just think that if people can keep an open mind about that, they can keep an open mind about a genre that is based on writing about one of the most important and exciting kinds of human interactions there is.

I mean, the question of who you love, who you'll be with, who you're attracted to, who's attracted to you - those are some of the most important issues in life.

Yet somehow, we get the Rodney Dangerfield treatment.

I don't understand human beings.
