Ugh, this really is a terrible list. I haven't looked at the Brian Herbert Dune book, but it has to be bad. And I'm sorry, but Weber is a hack. Clearly the one person they had choosing the sf/f has certain "tastes". Rather limited ones, I'd say, though the Toby Barlow book is an outlier.
