I feel the need to up my reading of blogs this year. Not sure why, I just do. What are the best blogs (particularly SF/F blogs, writing blogs, but not exclusively) that you guys have come across? Anything/anyone I should be reading five minutes ago?
That's what I love about the internet. In the old days, when we didn't know something we had towalk uphill both ways in the snow either look it up or make it up. Now we can ask complete and total strangers to tell us things.
In other news, I have a group started called And Now For Something Completely Different over on LibraryThing (which you NEED to join if you haven't). The point of this group is to discuss SF/F reads that are a bit less hyped and well known than say, The Anita Blake series or the Dragonriders of Pern or things like that. This includes new authors (who are actually new) and new books. I started it because, honestly? I'd like to talk about new/obscure authors and books and I'm a bit tired of weeding through thread after thread about Twilight and Harry Potter.
There's also a mirror group on Goodreads, which I like as a LibraryThing alternative.
It'd be really awesome if people joined and started talking up a storm in there. Really, everything is pretty much fair game, and there's no hard fast rule of what counts and what doesn't.
Even if you don't join, I can say absolutely that LibraryThing and GoodReads are horribly addictive and will own your soul by the end of the day, money back guarantee (no, not really).
