Kind of OT, but I learned something interesting about a member of my family.
My great-great grandmother - who was 6' 0" and had great big hands like me - was mixed. Her mom was from one tribe, and her dad was from another. No one really wanted her around, so she said screw you guys and married a white dude, had babies, and more or less lived happily ever after.
I, of course, am white. All I have from her are her long legs and big paws. But I think it's kind of neat.
And it is interesting to think of how I'll never be discriminated against for my race, but I had a great-great grandma who suffered terribly for it.
