[livejournal.com profile] matociquala did the first line meme. So I decided to do the first line meme, except with modifications. Hers is cooler though.

Title: The Wives of Gehenna (tentative)

It was a bit like that old saying about the military. If they wanted you to have a wife, they would have assigned you one. Well, the partners at the firm decided to assign him one. It was the price of advancement.

Title: Tower!Guy Story (working title)

Oh, fallen Black City! Oh, forgotten Goddess!

Title: Revenant Blues (working title, will be changed).

On the fortieth day, there was blood. That was when the Wolfshorde knew that the Wolf was dying.

Title: The Widow and The Wolf

Cori had never seen a wolf in person before, but when her husband died, the nine enormous wolves came to her front door to tell her she was a widow. She wasn't sure at the time which was more confusing. The wolves on the front lawn, or the fact that she was widowed without having been aware of being married in the first place. But there they were, and they did have the right house.

Title: The Devil's Workshop

Sunny tried her very best to live up to her name. It was hard, seeing as how she was named after a mass of incandescent gas that burned millions of miles away and gave life to everything on the planet, but it was not in Sunny's nature or upbringing to step away from challenges. And it could have been worse. Her parents could have named her Perfect. Or Stinky.

Title: Canaanites (tentative)

Three days later, when the boss called for him, Canaan was still haunting Josquin. Three days after they'd looked over the images, the video that was brought back from the planet, Josquin couldn't shake the rattled, uneasy feeling. It lingered and hovered around him like an overcast sky.

Title: Alien Detectives (working title, yo)

All the worst things happened in the early morning hours. Especially where phone calls were concerned. The best Eliza could hope for when the ring of her cellphone jerked her out of sleep was a wrong number or a panting pervert.

Title: UF!2Girls (again, a working title)

Well, it wasn't as exciting or fulfilling as running down zombies - well, walking because they weren't *that* fast - or preventing them from rising, but then again, nothing was.

Title: Queenmaker Book 1 (working title)

It's a challenge being a rabbit in the big city. Although, when rabbit-sized, all cities are big cities. Tires are just as likely to flatten you into a little bunny pancake in Alabama as New York. Still, you'd think that as a rabbit on a mission, you'd get more stares in Manhattan, but it's Manhattan. These people - save the tourists - have seen weirder and worse. Some mistake you for a rat, but that's not as much of an insult as people would think. The rats are kin and clever besides, and life would be easier as a rat. Much easier.

Title: Endangered Species (tentative because I know everyone and their brother has used this title at least once)

By the time Anna arrived, she already had a nickname. They called her "the Vampire Doctor". It was a bad nickname, because Anna was not a doctor and she'd never actually handled or even seen a vampire before. But she could tell there was no getting rid of it. It was going to be an uphill battle to get people to call her "Anna" or even "Ms. Kim". Still, it was worth it to work for the woman who had, like Babe Ruth pointing his bat to the outfield, made the bold promise to make vampires entirely extinct by 2015.

Title: Elementals (tentative)

I burned. Do not make the mistake of thinking that I control the fire or that I summon it. I am not it's master. I am not it's keeper. I *am* the fire. So, I burned. The currents of flame moved around me. I felt them as a fish must feel the current of the ocean, tugging at it, moving in pathways as waves and tides shift against each other.

Title: Corporal Mercies

Zoe woke up on Sunday morning to find a demon in her kitchen, cooking her breakfast.
