I *am* the mighty harpy eagle
I think
wisdomeagle is like my nano!twin, because we seem to be at the same level of progress.
I hit the 10,000 word mark somewhere this afternoon. Go team me!
I have a whole bunch of scenes that don't really have places to go, because I'm trying to not over-organize myself into hating this project. 'cause dude, I totally heart my characters.
There's these two guys, Breyr and the Kalen. They travel around in a spaceship. Mostly they just do random odd jobs, sell things, sometimes haul passengers for profit. They make a good living. Breyr has a million names and a past that he doesn't like to talk about too much. The Kalen is a neuro-genius with superpowers and a smart mouth.
And they're cruisin' by Earth - 'cause Breyr likes to go there sometimes. And so do other alien species. Mostly, they don't because Earth isn't actually as valuable as we like to think it is, but there are these shrubs called Collectors. They like to collect humans with genetic oddities (anything from rare blood types to Down Syndrome to unexpressed random mutations) and they cart 'em away, sell 'em, eat 'em. Doesn't really matter.
They hunt down this real nice and normal lady named Leslie Sparks. Mostly, she's just a whole bag of normal. She works at a financial company and she analyzes stocks and gets coffee/laundry/etc for the higher ups.
Well, Breyr is - as he always is - at the wrong place and the wrong time. And to save Leslie without having to pick a big fight with three collectors, he puts this necklace around her and says she's his property.
Only, that makes it true. *Now* Leslie is stuck with a necklace around her neck that can't be removed and has a 1000 day term. Meaning for the next 1000 days of her life, she's technically the property of Breyr.
So now there are three. Breyr. The Kalen. Leslie.
And then there's a nasty assassin who's got his sights on Breyr and Breyr won't say why. But Leslie and the Kalen can't afford for Breyr to get dead (for various reasons) and this assassin who's after Breyr has much bigger plans in mind.
Plans that might just break the whole damn civilized universe into pieces.
I really am going into an OT3 place with this, and possibly an OT4 when things get developed. I'm just so damn excited.
10,000 WORDS!
I'm really doing this. See, I thought I'd fall off somewhere around 6,000 words and decide I just can't do this, and especially after I lost 3000 words last week. But then I kept going and the word count said 10493 and then it was like "YEAH! I can totally do this!"
So yeah.
ETA: 11966 words at bedtime.
WOOHOO. Who's your *author*?

no subject
And I had totally not even *considered* the possibility of OT3 in my novel. *valiently resists urge to end it with giant orgy*
no subject
I don't know if
Also: if your novel ends in a great orgy, I promise that I will not fault you at all, because I've seen your characters and if I were doing your novel they'd all be smoking cigarettes and saying "we should do this again?" "yeah, when?" "uhh, how 'bout now?" *bell rings for Round 2 of orgiastic frelling*.
And yeah. OT3 is a thing of beauty.
