St. Patrick's Day I could deal with, as at least the businesses will be open. If you can ignore the oceans green beer, it wouldn't be much different from any other day.
And on the Middle Ages, do I get to take my SCA garb with me? If so, I might be ahead of the game, since I'll blend right in. Less chance of getting burned at the stake, don'tcha know.

Well, depends on where you live in the country, too. St. Patrick's Day in Tennessee consisted of some people wearing green and an excuse for kids to pinch each other and maybe somebody put up a picture of a four leaf clover somewhere.
St. Patrick's Day in Boston - whole other ballgame.

I'm not sure what SCA is. If you're talking about period clothing, it might depend on whether the cloth they're made of is accurate, if the colors are right, and other things, like who you're posing as. Are you a peasant, a member of the nobility, a member of the clergy?
Not to mention that the minute you open your mouth, you'd give up the game.
If I had to do it, I'd pose as a nun who'd taken a vow of silence for some order. That way I didn't have to talk, and anything particularly "miraculous" I did stands a better chance of being attributed to God rather than the devil and getting me burninated as a witch.
Groundhog Day is my favorite. No cards, gifts, dinners, phone calls; it's the perfect day; like any other day, but with a groundhog, what is not to love!?
