I've decided. As an author, I can only hope to aspire to one thing.

That one day, if I am lucky and talented, my work will spread far and wide and the people who read my work will love it so much that they write their own stories about my characters having implausible sex with members of the same gender.

And I will die happy.

'cause dude. How great would it be if you went on the internet knowing that somewhere, somehow people were making your characters do sex? Wouldn't it be even cooler if it totally surprised you. If you were like, "Huh, I didn't mean for those two to start makin' like bunnies on viagra, but now that I think about it...Righteous!"

I mean of course all the scholarly criticism and good reviews and fanmail and money would be nice, too. But not as nice as slash.

Because there is no higher compliment than, "I am so in love with your characters/setting/writing that I want your people to do each other. Right now. Screw canon, I want hot, luscious buttsecks. *type type type*"

One day, one day. If I am diligent and faithful, God will grant me slashers. Amen.
